In order to stake your ADX tokens you need to have a wallet that can be connected through WalletConnect, such as Ambire Wallet; a Metamask account, or Trezor device, which you can connect to the Staking Portal. Additionally, you will need some funds for gas fees, which depend on your chosen staking method - AdEx Staking portal or staking through Ambire Wallet.
You do not need to be online or have your wallet connected at all times to earn rewards. You will be earning rewards regardless if you are online for as long as you have an active stake.
Important: Please note you do NOT need an AdEx platform account in order to stake.
Here is a step-by-step explanation on how to stake
There are two ways in which you can stake your ADX tokens in Tom Pool - staking through the Staking Portal or staking through Ambire Wallet. The staking pool is the same regardless of which option you choose, which means that the same APY applies to both. The main difference is that the Staking Portal offer more information about the pool as well as a rage quit option, which allows you to immediately exit the pool without waiting for the unbond period of 20 days to end, with the expense of losing 30% of your accumulated rewards. Staking on Ambire Wallet on the other hand is very convenient for users, who are already using the wallet. In this article you can find a step-by-step explanation on how to stake on both Ambire Wallet and the Staking Portal.
Staking through the AdEx Staking Portal
Step 1: Go to the AdEx Staking Portal
Step 2: Connect your wallet from the upper right corner. You can choose from Metamask, WalletConnect or Trezor. In this case we will be showing how you can stake with Metamask.

Step 4: Choose the amount, accept the terms and conditions and click on deposit ADX
Step 5: Sign and Send the transactions

Staking through Ambire Wallet
Step 1: Go to wallet.ambire.com
Step 2: Create an account if you do not have one, or log in to your existing account
Step 3: Make sure you have one of the tokens with which you can pay gas fees on Ambire Wallet. You can find a list here.
Step 4: Make sure you have selected the Ethereum network from the dropdown menu in the top right corner
Step 5: From the left side menu select the Earn option
Step 6: In the Ambire field, select ADX token from the dropdown menu and type in the amount which you would like to deposit. Click on Deposit
Step 7: After clicking on Deposit you will be redirected to a page with a summary of your transaction, as well payment options for the transaction. You can choose to pay the fees with or without the gas tank option, which you can learn more about here. If you wish to enable the gas tank, you can simply go back to your dashboard, click on the Gas Tank tab and move the slider tab to enable it.
If your gas tank is disabled, select the token with which you want to pay the fee, as well as how fast you want the transaction to be executed. Higher fees are charged for faster transactions.
If your gas tank is enabled, you will be able to use only the tokens, which you have previously deposited in the gas tank and you will need to choose the speed of the transaction, which you prefer. The fees section will also show you how much you would save in terms of gas fees by using the gas tank.
Step 8: After Clicking on Sign and Send to confirm the transaction, you will be presented with a confirmation option, depending on your sign-in method:
- Email login: In order to confirm the transaction you will be asked to type in your password, as well as a one time password (OTP) which will be automatically sent to the email address you registered with or a 2FA authentication code if you have activated your 2FA authentication. Please keep in mind that the seed phrase is active only for 3 minutes.
- Metamask: A metamask window will automatically appear, in which you can confirm the transaction
- Ledger and Trezor: You will need to confirm the transaction in your hardware wallet
Step 9: Once your transaction is complete you will be able to see the deposit in your Assets and the transaction history in the Transactions menu.
