This tutorial will show you how to add AdEx ads to a self-hosted WordPress site.
Step 1: Create an ad slot
To begin the integration, you need to create an ad slot first. You can do this by following this tutorial.
Step 2: Get the integration code
Go to "Ad slots" in your AdEx account and click on the "View" icon next to the slot you wish to integrate.
On the ad slot page, scroll down to the "Integration" part and click on the "Copy" icon next to the integration code. This will copy the code and you'll be able to paste it to your WordPress site.
Step 3: Go to your WordPress site dashboard
Log in to your WordPress dashboard, then navigate to "Appearance" >> "Widgets".
Select a "Custom HTML" widget and drag it to the location where you want to place it: the sidebar, the footer, etc.
Paste the AdEx integration code in the "Content" box of the widget, then click on save.
Once you save it and your website is verified, the ads will appear in the widget on your website.
Of course, you don't have to use a widget in the sidebar or the footer of your site. If you want to place the ad somewhere else, you can add it by pasting the integration code in the respective place using the "Editor" section of your WordPress dashboard.
You can also place ads in-article - if you're using the Gutenberg editor, just place a "Custom HTML" block in line with the text and paste the AdEx integration code there:
That's it - you now have AdEx ads on your self-hosted WordPress site!
